Title: Db2 z/OS Recovery – How Best Practices Have Changed to Address New Threats
Presenter:
Abstract: When was the last time you had to do a recover of your Db2 data or reviewed your recovery plan for day-to-day Db2 activity? The reasons to recovery have changed over the last 30 years. In the past, recovery usually revolved around self-inflicted, hardware, or software reasons – but now there are new recovery motives out there, cyberattacks including ransomware. Because many think their Db2 data is covered along with their mainframe systems, which actually just mirrors DASD to multiple remote sites, bad data can be replicated two or three times—and it’s still bad data. A little work now can save many sleepless days, or weeks, when something goes very wrong. Data recovery best practices aren’t just about having the state-of-the-art Db2 recovery tools – it’s about building the process so if something happens, you’re ready and able to react. Join us as we discuss today’s best practices to prepare and practice Db2 Recovery.
