The user group has been in existence since 2007 and is well-respected among users of IMS. The user group gives its sponsors an opportunity to show that they are working with, and helping to build, the IMS user community.
Currently, the user group meets six times a year with a presentation filling most of the meeting. In the other months, members receive a newsletter. And there is a Facebook page, a Twitter feed, and a LinkedIn group keeping members up-to-date with information about new products or product updates, and articles about IMS.

The Virtual CICS user group is an independently-operated vendor-neutral site run by and for the CICS user community.
The Virtual CICS user group was established as a way for individuals using IBM's CICS TS systems to exchange information, learn new techniques, and advance their skills with the product.
This Web site provides a central point for coordinating periodic meetings (which contain technically-oriented topics presented in a webinar format), and provides articles, discussions, links, and other resources of interest to IBM CICS practitioners. Anyone with an interest in CICS is welcome to join the Virtual CICS user group and share in the knowledge exchange.

Enhanced Analysis Through Integrating CICS and Other Types of SMF Data
Continuing the theme from last January's session on enhancing CICS analysis from SMF data, this session will expand beyond CICS Transaction and Statistics data and examine ways CICS analysis can be enhanced through integration with SMF data from other components across the z platform. Scenarios will be presented showing integration of:
CICS and WLM service class data (SMF 72.3)
CICS and Db2 accounting data (SMF 101)
CICS and MQ accounting data (SMF 115)
CICS topology views integrating multiple types of data (SMF 70, SMF 101, SMF 115)
This session will expand your awareness of ways your analysis can benefit from combining insights across z/OS data types. And you can also expect to grow your understanding of disciplines outside your area of specialization and how to leverage that knowledge to improve your CICS environment.
